Greetings to our Dillsburg Elementary Family!
My name is Mrs. Lyndsey Quintana, Principal of Dillsburg Elementary. While I recently joined the team in October 2020, I have enjoyed getting to know the students, staff, families, and community members as I begin my time here with Northern York County School District. I look forward to finding ways to connect with everyone and build a proud polar bear community together for our students.
Prior to becoming principal here at DES, I earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education from Elizabethtown College. Afterwards, I started my career as a 2nd grade teacher for Shippensburg Area School District. After a few years and also earning my master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Shippensburg University, I traveled north and spent time teaching in Boston, MA and the Bronx, New York City. My career path led me to Albany, NY where I transitioned to teaching middle school (5th and 7th grade ELA) for several years. With a desire to return to Pennsylvania to pursue an administration job and close to my family, I previously served as the assistant principal of Allen Middle School for the West Shore School District for over three years before finding my way here to Dillsburg Elementary. My path has led me on many journeys, but I am so glad that it led me here.
On a bit more of a personal note, I was recently married in December 2020 to my husband, Kris. He is a Coast Guard veteran and currently teaches social studies courses to high school students. Currently, we reside in Harrisburg with our two rottweilers, Ellie and Q. We are enjoying getting to know more about the Dillsburg community and see DES as an extension of our ever growing family.
Although last year looked different from previous years due to COVID-19, I am proud of how our teachers continued to make Dillsburg Elementary a place our students learn and grow while also taking their safety and care into account as a top priority. This year, we look forward to taking steps towards the new "normal" while also continuing our safety procedures and mitigation factors. Our doors are slowly re-opening, so please make sure that you update your volunteer clearances and stay tuned for events as we welcome the 2021 - 2022 school year!
